Mainz/Paris, 22 March 2011 – The European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA) met on 17 and 18 March at its annual general meeting in Paris. The large majority of the more than 240 members of the largest solar industry association in the world elected Dr. Martin Heming, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SCHOTT Solar AG as member of the EPIA executive board. EPIA also presented the results of a study on the competitiveness of photovoltaics on the European energy market.
"I feel happy and highly honoured to be elected as a member of the EPIA executive board," said Mr. Heming. "I look forward to being able to put my knowledge and experience to full use at the EPIA, and to help in promoting the PV sector in this dynamic area. With the new study, the solar industry will be able to demonstrate the high potential of photovoltaics."
Dr. Martin Heming acts as CEO at SCHOTT Solar AG in the areas of strategy, research and development, public relations, personnel, auditing and sales and marketing. At the same time, he represents the solar industry as a member of the group management board at the SCHOTT AG parent company. He has contributed his professional experience to the EPIA board since 2010.
