– New generation of double-glass modules
– SCHOTT Poly 235 powerhouse
– High performance monocrystalline module
– Multicrystalline peak performer
– New generation of receivers for solar power plants
Mainz, 23 March 2011 – The energy and environment trade fair Genera will welcome international trade visitors from 11 to 13 May in Madrid. SCHOTT Solar will present quality modules and innovative new products to sales partners and customers. The SCHOTT Solar exhibition at Genera 2011 will focus on the new generation of SCHOTT ASI und SCHOTT Poly double-glass modules, the powerful multicrystalline SCHOTT Poly 235 module and the SCHOTT Mono 190 high performance monocrystalline module. Receiver concepts for solar power plants will be another focal point at the stand. Visitors can also experience the multicrystalline peak performer, featuring the outstanding efficiency of 17.6 percent. SCHOTT Solar will be showcasing its product portfolio at booth F 12, hall 10.
“SCHOTT Solar is well positioned in the Spanish market. Deliveries in Spain achieved a volume of approximately 18 megawatts in the past fiscal year (October 2009 to September 2010). We have expanded our sales network to meet this demand. The Genera trade fair is an important platform for Schott Solar, offering us the opportunity to meet customers and local partners and discuss product highlights as well as the development of our company with them”, said Dr. Martin Heming, Chief Executive Officer with SCHOTT Solar AG.
Product highlights at a glance: New double-glass modules
The new addition to the SCHOTT Solar product family is doubly good – in every sense of the term: Thanks to its tried-and-tested thin film technology and its sturdy double-glass construction, this module is a high performer with a long life, generating high solar returns even in conditions of diffuse sunlight and a non-optimum roof orientation. The double glass makes the module even more resistant to environmental influences of any kind. The new photovoltaic module has been available to buy since February.
The high-end solar module SCHOTT Poly 185 is yet another highlight, meeting the most exacting quality standards – and looking just as good. SCHOTT Poly 185 has been developed on the basis of SCHOTT Poly 290, which came out on top in an independent PV+ test conducted by TÜV Rheinland and Solarpraxis AG, achieving a grade of “very good (-)”.
The SCHOTT POLY 235 powerhouse
SCHOTT POLY 235 impresses with very high nominal output. High solar returns are ensured through the positive performance tolerance for the nominal output. Good news for installers: The increased reverse current resistance makes the module easier to wire. Thanks to the solid, anodised aluminium frame, the module is resistant to environmental influences.
SCHOTT Mono: Ideal for small roofs
The high performance monocrystalline SCHOTT Mono 190 achieves cell efficiency of more than 17.5 percent and overall module efficiency of up to 14.5 percent. In other words, just the right prerequisites for being put to use on smaller roofs, as the SCHOTT Mono series delivers high annual yields even when space is limited.
Multicrystalline peak performer
SCHOTT Solar has developed a new technique that will allow for high performance multicrystalline solar cells to be manufactured on a large-scale industrial basis. These solar cells produced in an industrial environment achieve peak efficiency of above 18 percent. In combination with improved module technology, module efficiency of 17.6 percent was achieved on the aperture area and confirmed independently by ESTI (European Solar Test Installation).
Receivers for solar power plants
SCHOTT Solar is also committed to highest quality standards in the production of components for solar power plants. SCHOTT Solar researchers have broken new ground in design and materials and developed a new receiver, featuring mechanical and optical properties that are perfectly suited to the extreme operating conditions at parabolic trough power plants. The receiver is setting new standards.
