SCHOTT Solar AG strengthens management team

• Mainz, January 11, 2010 – Hans-Peter Karpenstein appointed to the Board of Management of SCHOTT Solar AG

Effective January 1, 2010, Hans-Peter Karpenstein was appointed to the Board of Management of SCHOTT Solar AG. He is now responsible for the areas Finance and Controlling.

Hans-Peter Karpenstein was born on May 11, 1962, in Bad Hersfeld, Germany. After completing his studies and receiving his degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne, he began his professional career working for KPMG and then later for the Volkswagen Group.

Hans-Peter Karpenstein joined SCHOTT in 2003 and took over responsibility for the Electronic Packaging Business Unit as its Commercial Manager. The most recent position he held was President & CEO of SCHOTT Asia in Singapore and Shanghai.
