Many people around the globe have to live without electricity. Stand-alone solar solutions are often the only practicable and economically reasonable option to supply electricity when a connection to the grid is either too expensive or not possible due to technical issues.
As these underdeveloped areas often happen to receive above-average solar irradiation, stand-alone solar systems are an obvious solution. Electricity can open the door to gradual improvement of the living standards.
Due to their high degree of modularity, solar power applications can be installed in many sizes – at accessible prices. Starting from simple solar home systems supplying individual houses, to small mini-grid installations for central village supply, up to stabilizing existing grids. Such installations also provide a solution for industrial applications in areas too distant for grid connection.
Off-grid solar power systems have many advantages over diesel engines and other traditional self-sustained systems: they need no regular provision of fuel, need less servicing, are more reliable and quiet. Calculated over their life cycle, they are also often the better alternative from an economical perspective.
Nowadays, the advantages of such off-grid applications are appreciated worldwide. With good reason therefore, the topic of electricity supply is almost at the top of the list of supportive measures for underdeveloped rural areas in countries with an energy supply deficit.

We were able to implement a project for self-sustained electricity supply with a telecommunications system in the Arizona desert. Practical, safe and sustainable.
