Tomorrow’s energy will come from renewable energy resources and solar power is predicted to be one of these future sources of energy. SCHOTT Solar has taken it upon itself to utilize the almost inexhaustible potential of the sun – not only by the production of electric current from photovoltaic installations but also by means of solar power stations using parabolic troughs.
Sustainability plays an important role not only in producing energy, but also in making use of that energy. In SCHOTT Solar’s view there is a very close relationship between electromobility and renewable energy. That is because electrically driven vehicles are in fact only as clean as the electric current that is used to drive them.

In order to underline both the practicality of electromobility and its capability to provide transportation in the future, SCHOTT Solar has supported the MÜNCH Racing Team as a premium sponsor since the 2011 season. The motorcycles produced by the firm of MÜNCH have always represented a symbiosis of indescribable power and the responsible use of that power – a combination that has also provided SCHOTT Solar with inspiration. Since 2009 MÜNCH has taken part in two series of races that were specially created for electrobikes – these were the eGrandPrix organized by TTXGP and the e-Power International Championship organized by the official international motorcycling federation FIM. Since then MÜNCH has specialized in the construction of electrically powered high performance motorcycles.
You can find further information about the series of races at:

The MÜNCH Racing Team is the current world constructors’ champion in both series of races and what’s more it has in Matthias Himmelmann the current TTXGP world champion – of course he will have to defend this title this year on the newly developed racing bike MÜNCH TTE-1.2.
The sponsorship agreement between MÜNCH and SCHOTT Solar envisages close cooperation on various projects, joint appearances at events as well as financial support for the racing team itself. As the prime mover in the solar power industry, SCHOTT Solar would like to bring the idea of this close relationship between electric motors and renewable energy before a wider public.
